Adweb seeks dashboard resellers

The Adweb Agency, an Australian developer of a home-grown intranet dashboard with 34 in-built tools and applications, has set up a new partner program to attract resellers.

Campbell Dobbin, chief executive at Adweb, said the Melbourne-based ISV had five resellers in Australia but sought about 15 or 20 in each state.

"We've put together a pretty good offering that we think will give many different types of consultancies of all different sizes an opportunity to make a few dollars," he said.

Dobbin said Adweb's new partner program had a "massive" lead generation program fed by advertising across a variety of media, including search engine giant Google.

Adweb also promised a 30 percent commission on software licensed through its own software assurance program, Dobbin said.

Resellers could push Adweb's single offering, Intranet Dashboard, to companies with 20 to 200 users or large organisations. They could then create their own ongoing services around the dashboard software, which had 34 in-built tools and applications, he said.

However, a statement released by Adweb noted that Intranet Dashboard retails for $995 per license, with Enterprise 100 and 1000 versions starting from $87,000.

Dobbin claimed that significant cost savings were possible, making the product worthwhile even for SMBs.

The dashboard operated virtually straight out of the box, taking 15 minutes to set up as opposed to the many hours needed for some rival dashboards, he claimed.

But Dobbin said the varied functionality possible for the one price meant different revenue streams could be built around the dashboard, based on customer needs.

"[For example] they can on-sell their own training and support," Dobbin said.

Adweb boasted 22 resellers worldwide. "What we've actually found is that of these existing resellers around the world, regardless what country they're in, resellers have found the same changes and issues in their own client base," Dobbin said.

Intranet Dashboard users included oil giant Shell, which Dobbin said had a massive intranet for its thousands of staff, and local HR firm network Select Australasia, a company with 600 staff.
