Hitachi Data Systems (HDS) has appointed Andrew McGee as its Australia-NZ CTO to deliver on a strategy of aligning IT and business functions.
McGee takes over from former CTO Adrian De Luca, who has been appointed Asia-Pacific CTO for HDS.
De Luca will be now responsible for driving the regions market strategy and defining innovation opportunities with HDS's Research and Development organisation.
McGee will be responsible for creating and managing solution teams in converged infrastructure, advanced auto IT, scale-out computing, in-memory analytics and remote branch office solutions.
"[We're] providing our customers with continuous cloud infrastructure that enables a non-disruptive shift to a new model of pay-per-use computing," said McGee.
HDS regional VP and general manager Neil Evans said: "Andrew will play a crucial role in increasing our understanding of customer requirements and business directions, and using this insight to drive technologies that help organisations innovate with information."
