Adaptive Insights expands Australian channel

Business planning vendor Adaptive Insights has added new partners to its local roster, wants more, and is loving life as part of SaaS success Workday.

Adaptive Insights’ (AI’s) main play is gathering data from applications to help businesses do better budgeting and forecasting. The company positions itself as a simpler alternative to ERP, especially for organisations that don’t have the appetite for refresh core applications or adopt more complex financial tools than the likes of MYOB and Xero.

Workday acquired the company to strengthen its appeal to finance and HR buyers, but is content for AI to operate as an independent business unit. AI is therefore free to run its own channel and prefers to do so as it concentrates on software and leaves services to others.

That strategy has seen it recently sign Fusion 5, Adelaide’s Perks and Pitcher Partners to its local channel, plus Adelaide-and-Perth firm Planning Systems.

Those new recruits take the company’s total local partner pool to 18.

Australian managing director Vince Randall said the company will happily work with more, especially in Brisbane, and thinks the small business accounting channel will appreciate its approach.

AI co-founder Rob Hull told CRN he thinks Workday’s channel will also pay attention to the company, as the acquisition improved its profile and drew attention to synergies between AI’s wares and Workday’s offerings.
