Activeport introduces fibre service offering for private cloud

Activeport has launched Private-Cloud Connect, a dedicated fibre service offering variable bandwidth for private cloud connectivity.

By offering high speed layer-2 ports on a Fibreconx backbone and leveraging Activeport’s software to deliver dynamic bandwidth allocation, Private Cloud Connect offers scalable connectivity for businesses embracing cloud and AI-driven GPU workloads.

The service also provides private cloud connectivity at wholesale rates, aiming to empower resellers to enhance margins and deliver faster, more cost-effective high-speed fibre solutions.

Variable bandwidth allows customers to scale up for heavy workloads, such as data migrations, and scale down for daily operations.

Since its launch earlier this month, three private cloud hosts have already signed on and are hosting their private cloud services in data centres including DigiCo, Equinix, and NextDC. The three customers are expected to deliver hundreds of new network-as-a-service circuits on the company's Global Edge platform this year.

Activeport chairman and CEO Peter Christie said as more organisations embrace AI, the demand for local private cloud hosting is ramping up quickly.

"Our Private Cloud superhighway is designed to deliver the fast and flexible network these new AI services demand," he said.

“In future releases we will integrate our GPU orchestration and bare metal management solution, already live on some the worlds largest telco networks, to provide a comprehensive, highly scalable, Edge-to-Cloud AI platform-as-a-service for Australian operators”.
 
Activeport develops software for telecommunications providers and data centre operators. Activeport’s orchestration software cloud-enables traditional network infrastructure to improve the customer experience using self-service portals to automate service provisioning, accelerate ‘time to live’ for new services and enable flexible pay-per-use consumption.

Activeport also offers comprehensive orchestration features covering last mile, core network, data centre infrastructure and GPU’s for cloud gaming and AI.
