ACT Revenue Office picks Oracle partner for $10m deal

Melbourne-based DB Results has landed a $10 million contract to implement a new Oracle revenue collection and concession payments platform for the ACT government.

The new initiative is part of a $30 million transformation project of the Revenue Office.

Digital business consulting company DB Results has already started the implementation and the platform is set to go live in mid-2017 with a three-year support contract to follow.

DB Results will look after the program delivery and roll out of Oracle’s public sector revenue management system, which will be co-implemented by Intrasoft, a Luxembourg-based tax consultant and IT firm. This will be the first Intrasoft project in Australia.

The platform will provide the ACT Revenue Office with full revenue management, including registration, returns, processing, payments, refunds, collection and tax payer relationship management. It will also launch a self-service portal for ACT tax payers, as well as provision of data and analytics reporting.

Commissioner for ACT Revenue Kim Salisbury said: "After a rigorous selection process we engaged DB Results because we believe that their experience, knowledge of Oracle products and history of successful implementations is the best fit for our business."

DB Results chief executive Andrew Dean said: "DB Results has been investing in Canberra for over four years and the Revenue Office is our third major client in the territory. We see a bright future in Canberra for our business as we focus on our digital business solutions and explore further opportunities via the federal government’s digital services panel.

"We currently have 40 people working in Canberra and we can see this growing to over 100 in the next two to three years, thus creating significant opportunities in the local employment market," said Dean.

The Revenue Office transformation will help deliver the ACT Government’s Strategic Priority of Economic Growth and Diversification, the Digital Canberra Action Plan 2014-18’s Digital Services Vision and the roll out of Access Canberra, the ACT’s one-stop shop for government services.
