Global data protection company Acronis has appointed Andrea Martin as its strategic account executive for New Zealand and the Pacific Islands, as part of its strategy to expand its presence in the region.

Martin is an industry veteran with over 20 years of experience, and will be responsible for strengthening relationships with distributors and supporting partners to meet cybersecurity and backup needs of managed service providers (MSPs) and IT teams in New Zealand.

Her background includes roles at Arcserve/StorageCraft and IBM, where she held roles involving channel management, business development, and marketing.

Martin's appointment follows the February 2024 hiring of Kelly Johnson as the new general manager for Australia and New Zealand.

Acronis has been growing its security offerings with artificial intelligence powered EDR (Endpoint Detection and Response) solutions in May 2023 and introducing MDR (Managed Detection and Response) and XDR (Extended Detection and Response) services in June 2024.

The company's cloud data centres in Australia and New Zealand support local data protection compliance, enabling MSPs to scale their services and drive business growth while ensuring their clients' digital assets are protected.
