Acer has a new top channel exec in Australia in Walter Olson, who only joined last month from reseller Astron Tech.
Stuart Buxton parted ways with Acer after a temporary stint with the company, telling CRN he had "onboarded Walter Olson as my successor".
Buxton joined the PC maker in March after more than five years with Dell, having been brought on as acting national sales manager by Acer boss Darren Simmons. Buxton had previously worked with Acer in 2006-07.
"This was a challenging time for the business in light of sustained decline and record-breaking losses across the organisation," he added.
"I was pleased to identify, recruit and onboard my successor Walter Olson as national sales manager and am now reviewing opportunities to further my marketing career."
Buxton has since joined games giant EA as business manager for Greater China and South East Asia.
Olson, whose new title is head of channel and distribution, according to LinkedIn, joined Acer in June, when he was appointed as national distribution channel manager.
The reshuffle comes after some tough times for Acer. In the most recent share data from Gartner, Acer was the only one of the five big PC vendors to decline in its share of the global PC market, down 7 percent while Lenovo, HP, Dell and Asus all saw gains.
In January, long-term Acer boss Charles Chung departed the company, replaced by former sales director Darren Simmons.
Simmons did not respond to CRN's requests for comment for this story.
