Cloud communications firm Access4 has bought United Kingdom-based telecoms provider Luminate Wholesale in the company's its first expansion into the European market.
The acquisition brings Access4's SASBOSS platform to the UK at a time the country undergoes a major transformation with the planned shutdown of its copper network.
Access4, which has operated in Australia and New Zealand for nearly a decade, will introduce its SaaS Communications Platform to UK service providers.
This offers automation capabilities for unified communications (UCaaS), customer experience and user experience service delivery.
Tim Jackson, chief executive of Access4, said the UK expansion comes at a pivotal moment for the market.
"Bringing SASBOSS to the UK is a game-changer for service providers looking to differentiate themselves in a rapidly evolving market," Jackson said.
"With the copper switch-off accelerating the need for next-generation cloud solutions, our platform enables partners to scale efficiently, automate service delivery, and provides end-customers with best-in-class unified communications, contact centre, and user experience solutions."
Luminate Wholesale provides white-label hosted voice solutions to UK resellers, and will bring its 10-person team into the Access4 organisation.
Jonathan Walker, Luminate's managing director, will join the Access4 executive leadership team and continue to shape strategy while maintaining relationships with UK partners and vendors.
Terms of the deal were not disclosed by Access4.
