Motorola Mobility has launched the Atrix smartphone in Australia. The phone will be available from June 7 exclusive to Telstra. It will be available for $840 outright or on plan.
The almost over-powered Atrix boasts a superfast dual-core 1Ghz processor, a world-exclusive 4in qHD screen and up to 48GB of storage (16GB internal with microSD support up to 32GB). The operating system is Android 2.2.2.
The Atrix ships with the standard array of cables and headphones, with one exception...
... it also comes with a mini HDMI cable to take full advantage of the HDMI out port and the power processor.
In addition to HDMI, the Atrix has a micro USB port and a fingerprint scanner, with an impressive 1930 mAh battery.
There are two docks available for the Atrix: the laptop dock which combines an 11in screen and keyboard and the multimedia dock pictured here.
The multimedia dock has an HDMI out port, plus three USB ports and a speaker out jack. It retails for $129.
It also has a BT remote for ease of use.
Size comparison: the Atrix between the iPhone 4 and the HTC Desire HD.
And the rear view.
In terms of thickness, the Atrix manages to stay just under 11mm despite the large size battery.
The qHD screen is super bright and highly readable indoors and out.
