VentraIP acquires customers from Servers Australia
Australia's largest independent domain name registrar, VentraIP struck a deal with Servers Australia in March 2016 to acquire its 4000 shared web hosting customers.
The deal allowed the two companies to focus on their own corners of the market. VentraIP stopped selling dedicated servers, to focus on virtual and shared web hosting, marketing Servers Australia to its customer base instead. Servers Australia, meanwhile, focused on dedicated servers and infrastructure-as-a-service.
Servers Australia acquires assets from three companies
A month later, Servers Australia acquired thousands of customers and hundreds of racks from three related companies, Dedicated Servers, Indigo and Syncom. The transaction included assets such as computing infrastructure and two data centre locations in Servers Australia's bid to become the ''largest dedicated hosting provider in Australia".
