Samsung's new NF series of netbooks show a striking new design philosophy. Based loosely upon the look of a shark, the raised side fins are purely aesthetic and look surprisingly good for such a radical design.
A closer look at the 'fins' on the NF.
When closed the fins are inset into the lid.
Samsung will also be launching the 'shark' design in a larger laptop.
The SF series come with i3 or i5 processors, NVIDIA GT310M graphics and 4GB of RAM. It will be available in 13 and 15in models with prices starting at $1299.
The fins are relatively unobtrusive, sitting neatly alongside the sturdy 'chiclet' keyboard.
Samsung's new flagship laptop is this aluminium encased QX series. With an exceptionally thin screen and sleek metallic design it is intended to compete with the stylings seen on Sony Vaio and Apple Mac Pro models.
One of the most noticeable aspects of the QX series' design is the slightly recessed keyboard. The QX will ship in 13.3 and 15.6in models, using a Core i5 460M, 4GB RAM and NVIDIA graphics.
