CSC has appointed Gavin Larkings to succeed Nick Wilkinson as president of its Australian operations.
Larkings drive the introduction of emerging delivery models of cloud computing.
NBN Co has appointed former Morgan Stanley executive Harrison Young as chairperson of the NBN Co board, allowing Mike Quigley to focus solely on the chief executive role.
Young is a director of the Commonwealth Bank of Australia and serves on the Court of Directors of the Bank of England.
He is also Chairman of Better Place (Australia) Pty Limited, an electric vehicle services provider.
GN Netcom’s Mike Powrie, general manager sales, ANZ, has been promoted to regional managing director ANZ.
Powrie’s main focus in the next 12 months will be to build on the success of Jabra’s growth in the ANZ region.
Ingram Micro has promoted Jenny Southon to the role of general manager for its Data Capture/Point of Sale (DC/POS) arm.
Southon joined Ingram Micro in 1998 and has held the posts of business manager for Toshiba, IBM and HP.
VMWare has appointed Sun Microsystem's former ANZ managing director, Duncan Bennet, to head up its commercial sales operations.

IntraLinks, provider of critical information exchange solutions, has named Warwick Kirby senior vice president for IntraLinks in Australia and New Zealand.
Warwick brings over 15 years technology experience to IntraLinks, where he will be responsible for all aspects of IntraLinks’ business in the region.

Australian ICT project management specialist, Protegic, has appointed David Thompson as its new chief executive officer. Thompson joined Protegic earlier this year as general manager sales and marketing. Prior to this he was vice president Asia Pacific for software vendor AXS-One, part of Unify Corp.
Westcon Group has appointed Leigh Howard as managing director of Australia to replace Wendy O’Keeffe, who was appointed as executive vice president for the Asia Pacific region last year.
Howard, who has worked for Westcon Group for 13 years will be responsible for driving growth by focusing on its key technology practices of convergence, networking, storage and security.
"Westcon Group Australia has more than tripled its revenues in the past seven years since Leigh joined as national sales manager in 2002 and his significant contribution has greatly assisted in our growth," said O’Keeffe.
Howard said: “I want Westcon to continue to be a great business partner."
After 10 years at JB Hi-Fi, Richard Uechtritz has revealed his intentions to retire as chief executive officer in July or August.
Uechtritz joined JB Hi-Fi in July 2000 to lead a consortium of private equity investors in a management buy-in.
Following Uechtritz’s retirement and a six-month period of absence, he will rejoin the board as a non-executive director early next year.
JB Hi-Fi will enter into a consulting agreement with Uechtritz on his retirement for a term of three years to facilitate his ongoing support of the business.
“Ten years is a good innings as a CEO. The company is in great shape with a strong balance sheet and good growth prospects,” says Uechtritz.
“I'm leaving to pursue my philanthropic interests."

Pilvi joins Lake after spending a decade in senior level sales, marketing and business development roles, and consistently bettering her sales quotas even through the recent economic downturn.

Pronto Software has hired Stefan Crisp as product manager, infrastructure, to drive the strategic direction, development and go-to-market strategy of the enterprise software developer’s infrastructure applications.
Crisp will spearhead the ongoing infrastructure development of Pronto Software’s flagship solution, PRONTO-Xi, and work closely with the company’s R&D team.
Before joining Pronto, Crisp was a product manager at Agilent Technologies and was heavily involved in the implementation of Agilent’s ERP system.
Peter Prowse was most recently director of HP's Network Solutions group, where he led a team of 60.
He spent 10 years working at the US vendor.
Prowse says his key priorities were to “make sure Dimension Data takes advantage of what I see as one of the biggest hotspots in the IT market for some time – the convergence of server, storage and networking.”
Warwick Grey has been named as the marketing manager for the Personal Systems Group (PSG) at HP South Pacific.
In this role Grey will be responsible for the marketing of HP’s personal systems business, covering products and solutions across Australia and New Zealand. This includes the research, design, development and implementation of marketing strategies across the entire PSG portfolio.
Prior to taking up the role, Grey was the marketing manager for HP PSG in New Zealand.
The board of directors of security vendor CA unanimously elected William McCracken as its chief executive officer.
McCracken previously served as executive chairman since John Swainson’s retirement was announced in September 2009 and now holds both the CEO and chairman of the board positions.
Prior to joining CA, McCracken held numerous executive positions at IBM during his 36-year tenure, most recently as a member of the Chairman's Worldwide Management Council and general manager of IBM's printing division.
Marco Corrent has joined video conferencing vendor Tandberg as its channel manager for Australia and New Zealand.
Based in Sydney, Corrent has 18 years of IT channel expertise and sales experience under his belt.
Prior to Tandberg, he was A/NZ channel account manager for Blue Coat Systems following the company’s acquisition of network optimisation player Packeteer.
Carl Eberling will occupy strategic senior management appointments at software vendor Quest Software.
Eberling has been appointed as its vice president and general manager of virtualisation and monitoring.
