Higgins-Miller is off to Websense Websense has announced the appointment of Alison Higgins-Miller as vice president for Asia Pacific sales. Higgins-Miller joins Websense with more than 10 years management experience in IT, most recently in the software-as-a-service (SaaS) sector. Higgins-Miller comes from Acelarus, a full-service partnership for complementary SaaS vendors, where she was managing director.

eSavvy names Riddle Consultancy firm eSavvy has appointed Guy Riddle as solution architect. Riddle will be charged with finding the best Microsoft Dynamics CRM solution for the company's customers, eSavvy says. Previously, Riddle led the Microsoft Dynamics CRM product strategy for Praxa. “I’m delighted to be joining eSavvy and to be working with such a high calibre, well-respected team, many of whom are good friends,” Riddle says. “Large organisations need to feel comfortable that their chosen CRM partner has second-to-none product knowledge and experience, as well as understanding large corporate culture, and eSavvy has all of that.” David Goad, MD of eSavvy, says he is excited to have “one of the most senior experts in Microsoft Dynamics CRM” on the team. “Guy Riddle

3Com appoints Hughes and Palmer 3Com has appointed Angela Hughes (pictured) as manager, Australia and New Zealand. She will look after the overall operation, sales and marketing across the two countries. Hughes joined 3Com in January last year as Queensland manager where she was responsible for one of 3Com’s largest accounts – the Department of Education and Training. 3Com has also appointed Claire Palmer as marketing manager for Australia and New Zealand.

Walters exits Ingram Micro In shock news to the Australian channel, veteran John Walters has announced he will leave Ingram Micro, effective January 31. Walters, head of commercial sales and solutions, has worked at Ingram Micro for more than seven-and-a-half years. Walters forged strong relationships between the distie and its resellers and vendors through his charismatic personality and through events such as a company-sponsored trip along Papua New Guinea’s Kokoda Trail. Walters said he had effectively “planned himself out of a job” after being appointed the architect of a restructure of the distributor with Jay Miley, CEO of Ingram Micro.

Kaseya grabs Seivenpiper from N-able Jered Seivenpiper, formerly responsible for N-able’s sales and account management in Australia and New Zealand, has joined Kaseya as senior sales executive in Sydney. During his tenure with N-able, Seivenpiper built the company’s market presence in the region. He also planned and executed several marketing campaigns. “Jered has earned a reputation as one of the most astute and hard working sales people in the local IT services community,” says Tim Dickinson, regional director, Kaseya Australia and NZ.

Open Text grabs Haag Enterprise content management company Open Text has announced the appointment of Matthew Haag as southern region account executive. Based in Melbourne, Haag will focus on business development and account management. Prior to joining Open Text, Haag was business development manager at Objective Corporation where he was responsible for sales development in Victoria, Tasmania and South Australia. Haag says he is looking forward to helping the company build on its momentum to further Open Text’s reputation.

Motorola appoints Wittert Motorola has appointed Roy Wittert as manager of its wireless network solutions division, which was officially launched in Australia in November. Wittert’s immediate priority is to manage the go-to-market strategy of the new group through Motorola’s distribution and reseller partners. “My aim is to bring new energy and to raise the profile of what is already a hugely successful business for Motorola,” Wittert says. Prior to joining Motorola, Wittert took on a number of sales management roles at 3D Networks, Volante and most recently Vantage Systems, a video conferencing service provider.

Pitney Bowes appoints Dias Pitney Bowes Australia has appointed Ryan Dias as southern region sales manager. “It’s great to be joining a respected global company like Pitney Bowes,” Dias says. “We have an excellent portfolio of products and solutions, incoming advanced technologies, and all backed up with strong professional services.” Before joining Pitney Bowes, Ryan Dias was corporate sales manager at office products company Lyreco.

StorageCraft lures West from Trend Micro Stephen West, Trend Micro’s small business manager for Australia and New Zealand, left at the end of 2009. In an interview with CRN he says it was “time for a career change”. “I’ve been with Trend for three years and it’s just time to move on and try something new,” West says. At StorageCraft, “my job is to take it to the next level and basically re-engage channel partners,” he says.

Acronis’ new Mann Acronis has hired Steve Mann as chief marketing officer. Mann will head up Acronis’ global marketing efforts out of Burlington, Massachusetts. “Steve Mann brings a valuable combination of deep expertise and innovative thinking,” says Jason Donahue, Acronis president and CEO. Prior to Acronis, Mann led SAP AG’s social media strategy efforts. Mann was also responsible for SAP’s “Total Customer Experience” initiative.
