Epson uses Formula 1 Australian Grand Prix to unveil latest range

Epson launched its WorkForce Enterprise range of printers ahead of the first race of the Formula 1 at Albert Park in Melbourne on Sunday, 26 March.

Epson is a sponsor of the Mercedes AMG Petronas team, providing expertise around inkjet printers, scanners, 3LCD projectors and wearables, including smart glasses and health/sports sensing products.

At the launch event, three-time world champion Lewis Hamilton printed notes, which he read prior to the race.

Australian pricing for the WorkForce Enterprise range is yet to be announced, but it will be available only through channel partners.

Epson products, such as the WorkForce Pro 5190, WorkForce 2010W, ColorWorks C3500 and LabelWorks Z900FK, are used by the company's Formula 1 team partner Mercedes-Benz.

Epson printers can be found around the Mercedes garage, with models such as the WorkForce 2010W offering rapid turnaround of race data hard copies.

"It is so much more than just a printer and in fact, due to its networking capabilities, now represents an integrated document management solution at the heart of any office’s IT infrastructure.

"This printer also cuts the environmental impact of print by providing a low power solution, with fewer supplies, while delivering remarkably fast print speeds at high quality."

Each team can have about 60 people working in the garages. Mercedes said they have 900 back in the factory.

Epson smart glasses, not yet available for retail, are being used inside the Mercedes garage for demonstrations.
