What wireless technology do you deploy?
Currently, Aruba via their partnership with Juniper Networks, though the announcement of their sale to HP leaves us unsure about their future. We have commenced a new business relationship with Huawei.
When did your company first get involved in wireless?
In 2010, with the purchase of Trapeze Networks by Juniper Networks.
What are your wireless credentials?
Vendor-based certifications for Juniper and Aruba as you would expect, though we believe that certification in edge switching, AAA authentication, access control and BYOD solutions are also vital to a successful design and roll-out.
Who are your main distributors for wireless?
Avnet and Westcon.
Have you heard about any cool wireless technology recently?
Huawei's Agile Stadium solutions, providing high-quality wireless to 100% of users in up to 80,000 capacity stadiums is interesting, but integrating ticket sales, location services (seat and facilities), sponsorship, game replays and social media to benefit home clubs, fans, club sponsors and stadium owners is cool!
Can you tell us about a recent deployment?
We are seeing very interesting solutions in education and also from sporting stadiums where wi-fi offers benefits to franchises, teams, team sponsors and stadium owners.
What is driving customers’ wireless projects?
Various issues including 802.11 b/g/n to 802.11 ac upgrades, BYOD, LAN upgrades and segmentation.
