Dialog’s Google solutions practice is a premier partner of Google, which requires numerous certifications for sales and engineering, deployment and support across all of their cloud products. The broader Dialog Group is an ISO9001-certified organisation.
Who are your main distributors?
All software licensing through our practice is managed directly with the vendor (Google and third parties). For hardware (Chromebooks), Dialog uses Synnex.
Have you heard about any cool software trends recently?
Wearable computing is developing. Integrating SaaS offerings onto a watch or VR headset is worth watching. The Internet of Things is also an interesting area where software development will extend into consumer and business devices and machines. Watch Project Brillo and Weave from Google.
Can you tell us about a recent project?
We recently assisted the ACT Dept of Education with the rollout of Google Apps for Education.
What is driving customers’ software projects?
The main drivers we are seeing for SaaS implementations are: lower cost; all delivered as a service, with no need to manage infrastructure; mobility and BYOD; removing the periodic upgrade imposition on the organisation; and better delivery of services.
Software is…
Changing. Today we are hearing about the ways Google is looking at the Internet of Things. eg developing a recipe app for your mobile phone that can communicate with a smart oven and set the temperature and cooking times for the current recipe. The underlying software models for this will extend into the business world and create amazing change and digital disruption.
