We are seeing significant advancements in cloud- and software-based disaster recovery that is driving innovation and cost saving for customers. Historically, solutions relied heavily on customers’ deep understanding of their applications and platforms. Today, this is being simplified into predefined hardware with software and cloud options providing automated protection based on SLAs.
Can you tell us about a recent backup and DR project?
Our team recently completed a large backup remediation and technology refresh project for a large government organisation. Our customised solution, built on a foundation of integrated backup appliances, removed complexity, simplified management and provided a scalable solution optimised for their highly distributed environment.
What is driving customers’ backup and DR projects?
There are two consistent drivers for disaster recovery: our customers’ desire to improve the availability and provision of the services they deliver; and to reduce their risk profiles. We are now seeing customers taking advantage of cloud services to reduce complexity and infrastructure and to implement disaster recovery.
