CRN has a chat with Adrian Di Marco, executive chairman at Technology One.
Your job title?
Executive chairman, Technology One.
Your likes about your job?
Leading a bunch of exceptionally talented people who are creating world-class business software, and winning against the big multinationals.
Your dislikes about your job?
Dealing with the ‘cultural cringe’ against the local software industry.
What’s your dream job?
I have it now. There is nothing else I would want to do.
Your strangest job?
Laying railway tracks during my university days. I realise just how much easier it is to do what I do now.
Your biggest mistake?
Too long allowing our competitors to set the agenda.
Yourself in one word?
Passionate.
Favourite pastime?
Being with my family -- relaxing.
Favourite food?
Italian (guess why?)
What are you listening to?
I have teenage kids so I listen to what they listen to, and have learned to really like it.
What are you reading?
For fun: John Grisham, The King of Torts; and for business: The difference between God & Larry Ellison.
