Meet the CRN MVPs: The Missing Link Network Integration
Alex Gambotto, The Missing Link

The Missing Link is in a very select group of CRN MVPs, along with Thomas Duryea and Data#3, that have also been CRN Fast50 companies.

The Sydney solution provider’s managing director Alex Gambotto says he’s happy to see CRN recognise the more established players that are past the ‘explosive growth’ phase.

“We’re very, very privileged to be selected as a CRN MVP,” he says.

Gambotto estimates The Missing Link spends about $150,000 and $250,000 each year to maintain its vendor accreditations, much of it in opportunity costs.

“From a technical team perspective, it’s exam time opportunity cost. And for sales teams, it’s exams, on-site training programs and workshops.”

While boasting long-standing relationships with IBM, Lenovo, Microsoft and Intel Security, The Missing Link has branched out from its integration roots in recent years and now runs a thriving security practice, headed by Aaron Bailey. Its newest strategic vendors  - Webroot and FireEye - come from this growth area.

“We won a couple of awards at the FireEye partner conference and I think we’re number one in Australia for the last quarter or something like that,” Gambotto tells CRN. “Pretty exciting, considering the players we’re up against.”

Notes on methodology

The CRN MVP program recognises Australia's top IT providers by measuring their value and versatility based on third-party vendor accreditations across 12 eligible vendors: Amazon Web Services, Cisco, Citrix Systems, Dell, EMC, HP (incl Aruba), IBM, Intel (incl McAfee), Lenovo, Microsoft, Symantec and VMware.

Only eligible vendors listed above. Only Gold-equivalent partner levels are included. CRN MVP companies may have accreditations with other, ineligible vendor programs or lower-level accreditations with eligible vendors (for example, we do not list silver accreditations).

We expect the list of eligible vendors to change in coming years, which may open up the CRN MVP program to new entrants.

For further information on the CRN MVP program, see this article.

We are currently accepting expressions of interest for the 2016 CRN MVPs at www.techpartner.news/MVP. Entries will open in coming months.
