The end of financial year (EOFY) sale can be a way to save on those essential IT purchases your business has been holding off on all year.
Tech vendors and retailers know this, which is why you'll see EOFY sales aimed directly at IT purchasers throughout June. An EOFY deal can be a great way to get the technology you've always wanted for a little bit better than what you'd normally pay.
Below are a few of the better EOFY discounts and promotions from the past few weeks. Feel free to add any worthwhile deals you've spotted yourself in the comments section below.
Lenovo: Save up to 70 percent on laptops
"It's the best time of year to get hot deals on laptops and savings on bonus options" crows the Lenovo website, where the prices of the ThinkPad range have been discounted.
Lenovo's EOFY deals include the 13.3in ThinkPad Edge E320 for $499 (RRP: $995.91), the 14in ThinkPad Edge E430 for $549 (RRP: $1,122.91) and the 15in ThinkPad Edge E525 AMD for $449 (RRP: $1557.85).
In addition, Lenovo is offering 30 percent off Microsoft Office Home & Business 2010 and Microsoft Office Professional 2010 when you purchase any ThinkPad laptop. The discounted Office suites now cost $153.30 and $300.30 respectively.

Brother: Up to $100 cash back on printing products
For a limited time, printer manufacturer Brother is offering up to $100 cash back on selected inkjets, laser MFCs, printers and consumables. Products eligible for the full $100 cash-back include the MFC-9325CW, HL-4570CDW, DCP-9055CDN and MFC-8880DN.
To receive the offer, users need to register their details and product model, select a payment method and send in their receipt. You will then be able to track your claim on the Brother website using the supplied code. [Note: Claims and supporting documents must be received within 30 days of purchase.]

Dell: desktop and laptop sale
Dell has heavily discounted selected desktops and laptops to take advantage of end of financial year spending sprees.
For example, the Dell Inspiron 15R laptop, which normally retails for $999, is advertised for $749. The Inspiron 15R comes with a 15in LED display, an Intel Core i7-2670QM CPU, 6GB or DDR3 RAM and a 500GB 5400RPM SATA HDD (upgrade options are available).
We also spotted the 27in Dell XPS One all-in-one desktop for $1998 - a saving of $500. The XPS One comes with a 27in 2560x1440 Full Quad HD WLED display, an Intel Core i7-3770s CPU, up to 8GB DD3 memory and Nvidia GeForce GT 640M graphics. (You can read more about the Dell XPS One here.)

Officeworks: Tax time deals
Officeworks is advertising "tax time prices" across a range of products. While the catalogue doesn't specifically mention discounts, we've compared the price of various items and found them cheaper than you'll pay at many other places.
This includes Fuji Xerox Professional A4 printing paper (500 sheets) for $3.97 to the HP Pavilion G6-2113TU laptop (with a 3rd Generation Intel Core™ I5-3210M CPU) for $648.
The website also offers free delivery to Metro/Regional areas for orders over $55. Officeworks also has a same say delivery guarantee for orders placed before 11:30am.
Microsoft Business: Software cash back offer
From 15 April to 30 June, Microsoft is offering businesses up to $7500 cash back on their Microsoft Software Agreements. Each licence you order for Windows 7 Professional, Office Professional Plus 2010 and Windows Server 2008 R2 will receive $40, $100 and $170 off, respectively.
After making their purchase, customers need to email mycash@microsoft.com together with a scanned version of the original invoice, the licence agreement number and payment details in order for Microsoft to issue a cheque.
