IronPort’s WA boost

Cisco’s business unit, IronPort Systems Australia, has intensified its WA focus, adding Kai Garvin-Brown as the company’s first Perth-based territory manger for the region. IronPort has also established a national sales admin office at Cisco’s Melbourne address, to be managed by Angela Marsh. Garvin-Brown joined IronPort after two years as business development manager at Alphawest. Previously, he spent three years at Power Business Systems.

Poignand departs Canon

Allan Corder, senior general manager for Canon’s Consumer Division, has confirmed Stuart Poignand’s resignation. Corder said after 22 years at Canon, six as head of marketing for Canon’s Consumer Imaging Products Group, Poignand has decided to leave to pursue new interests. “Stuart has contributed enormously to the growth and evolution of the Canon brand in Australia and to the development of its camera and printer businesses,” said Corder.

The Price is right

ADC Krone has promoted Alex Price to the new role of A/NZ project manager of the company’s enterprise business division. Price will ensure that ADC Krone’s enterprise customer projects are managed efficiently, drawing on the company’s various support teams including the technical assistance centre, customer service, sales and engineering. Price has spent the past four years as ADC Krone NSW state sales manager serving large enterprise customers.

New local HDS head

Storage vendor Hitachi Data Systems (HDS) has appointed Neville Vincent as country manager for A/NZ. This follows the promotion of Mark Kay to senior vice president and general manager, Asia Pacific. Vincent will be responsibile for all operational aspects of HDS A/NZ, including driving business strategies, setting performance goals, and the overall profitability of the company through managing the channel and negotiating major sales.

Hawke handed the Crown

Independent wireless site operator, Crown Castle Australia, has handed Roger Hawke the reigns as managing director. Current MD, Phil Kelley, will take up the role of senior vice president, corporate development and strategy for Crown Castle International, the parent company in the USA. Hawke was formerly the director of sales and operations at Crown Castle Australia — one of many positions he has held with the company over the past seven years.
