Grant Howe will lead networking vendor 3Com’s operations across Australia and New Zealand.
Based in 3Com’s Sydney office, Howe will be responsible for all sales, customer and partner programs, as well as the day-to-day operations in both Australia and New Zealand. He will report directly to Peter Chai, vice-president and general manager for Asia-Pacific.
In March, 3Com announced its acquisition of 100 percent of H3C Technologies of China, thus creating a single unified organisation. As A/NZ country manager, Howe will oversee the overall integration of the 3Com and H3C Technologies sales and marketing teams.
“We are very fortunate to have Howe as part of our management team in APR,” said Chai. “With him at the helm of the Australia and New Zealand team, I am very confident that we now have the leadership in place that will help us win in both the large enterprise and SMB markets in those countries.”
Before joining 3Com, Howe was the national sales manager for Avaya reseller GlobalConnect. In this role, Howe successfully built a sales and marketing team that grew revenues and GlobalConnect’s customer base.
In addition to his work with GlobalConnect, Howe spent seven years at Avaya as channel director responsible for Avaya’s South Pacific Business Partner program and more recently as director of business development for A/NZ.
“Howe’s hands-on channel and sales experience gives him an excellent insight into 3Com’s distribution model as well as the local operations of our resellers. His appointment will help us drive partner relationships, leading 3Com into the next phase of growth,” Chai added.
