Dicker Data has signed up to distribute Nuance Communications' imaging and speech recognition software.
The US-based vendor sells a range of speech recognition and imaging software, including Power PDF, OmniPage, PaperPort and Dragon.
Nuance is also distributed in Australia through Scholastic and Mindscape, which will both stay on as distributors.
“After reviewing our distribution strategy and conducting due diligence on potential distributors, what clearly emerged from our channel partners was that we should talk to Dicker Data,” said Nuance director of channels and OEMs Nathan Taylor.
“We were also very impressed with Dicker Data’s engagement with the channel and most specifically Dicker’s systems, people and culture. I am really looking forward to seeing Dicker Data help take our business with the channel in Australia to the next level.”
It marks another step on Dicker Data's software evolution. The company was historically focused on hardware, but diversified through its acquisition of Exprss Data. Just this year, Dicker launched its cloud portal and signed on Veritas, Paessler and IBM Softlayer.
The publicly listed distributor announced last week it had achieved a billion-dollar revenue milestone.
Nuance’s Freespeech system was recently rolled out by Optus for the Australian Taxation Office to remove the need for callers to answer security questions.
