Cirrus rakes in $1.5 million from new cloud business
Frank Richmond

Newly ASX-listed integrator Cirrus Networks has recorded $1.5 million in cloud revenue just months after launching its cloud services platform.

Cirrus has already signed three customers since launching its cloud services in June. These include including mental health carers Arafmi WA, aged care providers Community First International and a “large international supplier of mining equipment.”

The company has also landed contracts with iiNet, Curtin University and WA Police.

The Perth-based reseller listed on the ASX in July in a reverse takeover with Liberty Resources and reported a revenue of $14.9 million in its first year of trading.

Cirrus' cloud services ranges from fully outsourced IT support to smaller migrations for applications such as Office 365.

Managing director Frank Richmond said Cirrus customers can connect to the “global cloud players” for a range of services including virtualisation-as-a-service, network-as-a-service and backup-as-a-service.

“The theory that everyone will be on the cloud is wrong,” said Richmond. “People want a flexible approach and we wanted to offer our own. It’s around driving value into the business rather than reselling someone else’s cloud.

“They can choose what service level they need depending on what they consider as business crucial.”
