Ad agency Ogilvy joins Oakton, Avanade as Sitecore platinum partner

The local arm of global advertising giant Ogilvy has been elevated to the top tier of Sitecore's partner community – the only Australian marketing agency to reach the level.

Ogilvy joins more traditional IT names Oakton, Accenture, Avanade and Deloitte Digital as a platinum solution partner with web and digital marketing vendor Sitecore.

The Sitecore Experience Platform combines web content management, marketing automation, email marketing, social media, e-commerce, optimisation and analytics.

Ogilvy Australia head of digital Jason Davey said: “We have been working with Sitecore since 2007, successfully delivering many enterprise-level projects for clients. As the only marketing communications agency in Australia to have been endorsed as a Sitecore Platinum Implementation Partner highlights Ogilvy as a leader in delivering connected customer experiences."

It is not the only example of the lines blurring between digital marketing agencies and cloud computing. Avanade, for instance, said it had achieved platinum level with Sitecore after completing the most Sitecore implementations on Microsoft Azure worldwide.

Australian hosting firm and Amazon Web Services partner Bulletproof has been adding digital agencies to its own partner program, such as Isobar, Vivid Group and IE Agency.

Having secured a line of capital from private equity Blue Sky in October 2013, Melbourne-based Microsoft application specialist Readify chose a digital agency for its first investment, taking a 20 percent share of Sydney-based UX and branding agency Folk.
