Web agencies become "resellers" with Bulletproof
Mark Randall

A new breed of channel players has signed up to Bulletproof's new partner program.

Bulletproof has revealed digital agencies Isobar, Vivid Group and IE Agency as some of the first Tier 1 members.

Randall said the names should be no surprise, because web development and hosting is one of Bulletproof's main routes to market.

"The example we cited are digitally focused, a reflection of the fact that to this date the biggest area for cloud adoption has been in the digital space. Digital agencies and web developers are very important and the core target for this program," said Randall.

The hosting provider's new partner program draws on elements of traditional vendor programs, such as tiering based on revenue generated and marketing support.

"In terms of the commercial construction, it is very similar to a traditional partner program offering. We offer referral fees for our full range of services. They can refer customers to us or resell it themselves. We offer marketing support depending on what tier they are," said Mark Randall, Bulletproof's chief customer officer.

Marketing options include webinars, joint marketing and 'lunch-and-learns'. "We give priority to our more established and successful partner but it is dependant on the opportunity itself," said Randall.

Bulletproof is casting the net wider, with ambitions to attract systems integrators and managed service providers to the program.

"We are now seeing the nature of cloud adoption change. People are looking to use it for far more than just website hosting and critical campaigns."

Bulletproof's offer spans its private cloud, based on VMware, as well as public IaaS from Amazon Web Systems. Bulletproof is one of the most highly certified AWS partners in Australia and one of just 22 AWS Premier Partners globally.

Randall called out for prospective partners with leftfield ideas to drive business. "If a partner comes to us with a brand new vehicle that we haven't played in before and has ideas for joint marketing we could do, that is something we are absolutely keen to talk about."
