Multinational Dimension Data has a significant presence in the Australian channel, and this is reflected in its foundation membership in the CRN MVP club. The solutions provider is recognised as a top-tier partner for Cisco, Intel Security, VMware, Microsoft and Hewlett-Packard.
Dimension Data Australia director of business Pete Murray tells CRN that when Dimension Data takes on a vendor, it always partners to “the highest level”.
“As an integrator and service provider, staying current with the market-leading vendors is important for not only for your ability to be a reciprocal partner, but for people and culture - it gives our teams working on these solutions day-to-day their own personal currency.”
Dimension Data Australia runs a vendor management office, under Murray’s watch, that manages all the vendor certifications and channel business plans. His unit has five dedicated staff, while Dimension Data Learning Solutions has its own vendor management team.
Murray says some vendors could benefit from its relationship with his company by being more discriminating with top tier admissions: “Make it harder to get the top certifications… Maybe not harder, but how about a much clearer differentiation of the investment in that [vendor] relative to the certification.”

Notes on methodology
The CRN MVP program recognises Australia's top IT providers by measuring their value and versatility based on third-party vendor accreditations across 12 eligible vendors: Amazon Web Services, Cisco, Citrix Systems, Dell, EMC, HP (incl Aruba), IBM, Intel (incl McAfee), Lenovo, Microsoft, Symantec and VMware.
Only eligible vendors listed above. Only Gold-equivalent partner levels are included. CRN MVP companies may have accreditations with other, ineligible vendor programs or lower-level accreditations with eligible vendors (for example, we do not list silver accreditations).
We expect the list of eligible vendors to change in coming years, which may open up the CRN MVP program to new entrants.
For further information on the CRN MVP program, see this article.
We are currently accepting expressions of interest for the 2016 CRN MVPs at www.techpartner.news/MVP. Entries will open in coming months.
