Zettagrid offers Zerto disaster recovery on subscription

Channel partners of infrastructure-as-a-service provider Zettagrid can now offer its real-time disaster recovery, SecondSite, on a subscription model.

SecondSite, which is built on the Zerto DR platform, allows partners to offer recovery site, data synchronisation, accessibility and activation for part or all of their customers’ virtual environments.

According to Perth-based Zettagrid, this virtualised replication-as-a-service provides a secondary data centre and resources via its virtual data centre product, replication software and full automation using its middleware that integrates all the components.

Channel partners now have the option to provide cloud, virtual replication, virtual data centres and other managed services.

Zettagrid managing director Nathan Harman said: "[SecondSite] is the most affordable, quick and efficient disaster recovery solution available today. And because it's scalable, it's available to all businesses large or small.

"This is particularly beneficial for channel partners who work with a broad range of customers. Whether it’s one virtual machine or thousands of VMs, SecondSite delivers the same reliable and affordable solution."

According to Zettagrid, SecondSite has a failover performance of "a few minutes".

The solution has already been implemented for Health Insurance Fund of Australia (HIF). The business has more than 120,000 members and needed an easy-to-manage solution.

HIF's IT manager Troy Cook said: "How we quantify the impact of downtime is we look at the staff that couldn’t work and the damage to our brand – it would be significant. With Zettagrid SecondSite, we keep staff productive and protect our brand, ensuring the availability of services to our customers."

In the start of July, Zettagrid was the first Australian Microsoft partner authorised to deploy Office 365 ProPlus in its own cloud. Zerto and Zettagrid signed the partnership agreement in February this year.
