Would you buy a set top box from Telstra?

Just in time for the bulk of the World Cup matches, Telstra's long-planned T-Box, goes on sale Thursday.

The T-Box which has long been considered Telstra's best chance at taking on the likes of TiVo, Sony's Catchup TV and Fetch TV. Unlike Foxtel, the T-Box has a no contract option. The T-Box will be priced from $299 outright, or available under a Telstra 24 month contract.

T-Box users will be able to watch and record Digital TV, connect to popular sites such as YouTube and other social networking services, download music (from the Bigpond Music store) and the latest movies on demand.

Bigpond TV is expected to be another highlight for users, offering a mix of NRL, AFL and other sporting content.  Of course, you'll be able to record it all, just as you can with your TiVo or Foxtel IQ2 box with dual tuners on board.
