WhiteGold to open new offices, expand technology focus
WhiteGold Solutions has also revealed its intent to swell its headcount with new offices as it expands its technology portfolio into new areas.

Dominic Whitehand, managing director of WhiteGold, confirmed to CRN that the distributor will be moving into storage this year.

“I’m thinking about having a separate business unit for storage, that is not decided yet, but we will be working with a vendor which takes a very different approach so we will be competing with all the big guys like NetApps and EMC, but it will be a very different type of technology,” he said.

Whitehand said the firm will also start to operate in the wireless infrastructure space, while expanding in security compliance and networking management with a new vendor.

“We have about 15 employess now and we are looking at opening a Queensland office, probably in February, which will start with one person and probably a technical person to back that sales person up. Also potentially an ACT office in six months time,” said Whitehand.

“We have our Sydney office and one in Melbourne. We have two people in Melbourne and we’d like to add another person there, alongside moving into a new Melbourne office in the next two months.”

Whitehand added the distributor plans to become a $20 million plus business in the next couple of years, with a long-term goal of reaching the $30 to $50 million mark in turnover.
