At the beginning of the year CRN revealed WhiteGold’s storage practice plans. The firm has now officially started its storage segment onslaught after agreeing on terms with clustered storage systems player Isilon.
Dominic Whitehand, managing director of WhiteGold said the Isilon signing is part of the distributor’s overall system solutions diversification strategy.
“Our storage practice starts now,” he said. “We are tremendously excited about the opportunity that Isilon represents in the local market. With certifications from Cisco, Symantec and VMWare and a partnership with Riverbed recently announced – we see some obvious opportunities for quick wins”.
Michael Burnie, vice president and general manager for Asia Pacific at Isilon, said: “We are pleased to have WhiteGold on board as one of the first Smart Partners in our Asia-Pacific sales region. Their industry specific knowledge and strong service orientation assure a high level of satisfaction for our mutual customers.”
Isilon offering consists of clustered storage systems and software for digital content, enabling enterprises to transform data into information.
“We can have an Isilon IQ cluster up and running within 15 minutes of installation” said Jonathan Odria, sales director at WhiteGold. “Configuring new nodes for performance and capacity takes less than 60 seconds - with no down time or manual intervention. This is unheard of with any other vendor and will give us a real edge when proposing solutions for customers with unstructured data storage requirements”.
