WhiteGold Solutions joins Anixter as one of the vendor’s distributors following the recent parting of ways between Allied Telesis and Express Data.
WhiteGold will distribute the full range of Allied Telesis products under an agreement between the vendor and distributor, signed and effective as of early May.
Dominic Whitehand, managing director of WhiteGold said the distributor has been asked by customers so many times for network infrastructure solutions, that it has become a necessity to bring on board a quality vendor in this space.
“A lot of our customers have been getting calls to do much bigger tenders both in the commercial and government arena. With these large projects, organisations are looking to refresh their whole network infrastructure,” he said.
According to Whitehand, the distributor went with Allied because, there is not enough room for margin with other big vendors like Cisco and Nortel.
Although WhiteGold is known for its focus in the niche IT Security market, the new move won’t see it lose its security focus.
Whitehand said the move was due to the cross pollination of security products with an organisation’s infrastructure.
“The decision was driven by the fact that we are asked so frequently to provide networking infrastructure to complement our security solutions when bidding for tenders and large projects in the enterprise space,” he said.
Anixter will remain as distributors alongside WhiteGold in Australia.
