Venafi keep the keys to the cupboard

Enterprise key and certificate management provider Venafi is looking to the local channel for growth over the next twelve months.

“We are very much a channel-focussed company,” said Michael Bosch, Venafi country manager for Australia and New Zealand. Bosch is an industry veteran, having spent time with Sun Microsystems, IronPort and others over a decades-long career.

Venafi’s key and certificate management solutions are used by a large proportion of the Fortune 100, while the company also has strategic relationships with both HP and IBM.

Locally, the company has distribution agreements with Dimension Data, along with security specialist First Point Global.

Venafi’s key and certificate management solution is pure software, said Bosch, and runs as a virtual machine on various flavours of Linux, UNIX and Microsoft NT-based operating systems.

According to the company, poor certificate and key management allows hackers and other criminals access to key infrastructure, allowing them to steal important corporate information – often without the company realising it has been compromised.

“Organisations are now realising how important key management is to their security,” said Kevin Bocek, VP of product marketing. “The importance of controlling trust and reducing exposure in this area simply cannot be overstated.

Venafi recently won the Best Encyption Solution for its Director product from CRN sister title SC Europe.
