According to Stree Naidu, regional vice president Asia Pacific and Japan, Tumbleweed is set to sign up two more partners in Australia one in Melbourne and one in Perth expanding its reach to cover most of the country.
“Within this quarter or at latest first month of next quarter we should have added a few partners across the whole of the country, not just Sydney, Canberra and [Brisbane] but we’re moving to Melbourne and Perth as well,” he said.
“[Demand] has been quite fantastic of our Secure Transport product. I continue to see that spam and email gateway is a saturated market but Tumbleweed is addressing a big need for Australian companies in terms of secure transfer and delivery of secure files across the Internet."
Additionally, Naidu said he will be adding a couple more heads out here soon.
"I find myself visiting Australia more often," he said. "Australian companies across Asia Pacific seem to be the first to react to [global breaches]."
Referring to US mass retailer JC Penney's loss of 650,000 customer details after a data tape went missing from storage vendor Iron Mountain.
Furthermore, Naidu revealed that the company is about to release its growth percentage for Asia Pacific. Last year the vendor underwent a triple digit growth in 2007 on 2006 and is looking at more of the same for this year in APAC.
Last November, Tumbleweed announced that it hired a new exec, Dave Harris as new vice president of worldwide channels who planned to expand Tumbleweed's channel program.
