Trustwave hands distribution portfolio to Hemisphere

Security vendor Trustwave has extended its partnership with distributor Hemisphere Technologies by giving it access to its entire product portfolio.

Hemisphere was initially signed on as a distributor for Trustwave’s Secure Email Gateway Cloud service back in February. Trustwave’s other products range from network security, content and data security, endpoint security and database security.

Hemisphere managing director Andrew Mamonitis said the renewed partnership showed the distributor’s cloud in the local channel.

“We’re proud of having utilised the full resources of the team at Hemisphere to deliver the benefits that come with partnering with us. The base we’ve built during our partnership leaves us in good stead moving forward with the entire portfolio Trustwave offers,” said Mamonitis.

He added that the Australian government’s focus on cybersecurity presented new opportunities for the IT security channel.

“Cybersecurity is currently high on the government’s agenda with a significant figure allocated to its cybersecurity strategy in the recent budget. With the government leading the charge in taking cyber security seriously, Australian businesses are likely to follow suit and start looking at ways to beef up their own security.”

Trustwave was acquired by Optus’ parent company Singtel in April 2015 for US$770 million. It continues to operate as a separate business unit with headquarters in Chicago.

Hemisphere is a security specialist distributor with offices in Sydney, Melbourne and Auckland. Last year, the company was named Asia-Pacific distributor of the year by Kaspersky Lab.
