Trend Micro overhauls partner program
Security vendor Trend Micro has launched its Affinity Partner Program in an attempt to provide a more unified and beneficial partner channel.

The program is intended for existing Trend Micro partners and companies applying to participate in the Trend Micro partner program.

It also aims to provide partners with detailed information regarding definitions of benefits and terms of their membership.

Trend has introduced three different levels of partnership: AffinityELITE, AffinityPREMIER, and AffinityASSOCIATE.

AffinityELITE partners are deemed to have demonstrated a sizeable commitment to Trend Micro by a continuing revenue pattern. Participation in the AffinityELITE level of the Affinity partner program is by invitation only.

AffinityPREMIER partners are value added resellers that manage projects. Integration with other security vendors forms part of their qualifications to offer a trustworthy service to the customer.

AffinityASSOCIATE is the entry level of the Trend Micro Affinity Partner Program. Partners are businesses of all sizes and scales. AffinityASSOCIATE partners are only recommended to complete a standard level of training. As the partnership progresses, Trend Micro engages with these partners to help them grow to higher levels of engagement

Michael May, enterprise director for Australia and New Zealand at Trend Micro, said: “The program was designed with the help, support and feedback of Trend Micro’s channel partners and is uniquely suited to our valued partners – aimed at helping them develop revenue and secure new business opportunities.

“This more unified program will apply to all partners be they small, medium or large. It will include generous updates to rebates and marketing development funds as well as additional benefits and incentives for participating partners. These are just the start of some exciting changes at Trend Micro,” added May.
