Toshiba PCs stolen from Sydney warehouse

NSW Police were investigating the theft of 100 Toshiba PCs and laptops from a warehouse in Sydney’s west early this morning.

Police said three people drove vehicles into the rear entrance of the industrial warehouse on Parramatta Road at Homebush at 2.50am, loading more than $250,000 worth of product from a pallet.

Toshiba moved its warehouse and service centre to Homebush in 2006, but it was unclear if the vendor was the theft victim.

CRN has contacted Toshiba for comment.

The vehicles involved were described as a maroon-coloured van, a black Mercedes sedan and a dark-coloured Subaru wagon.

About an hour later, the empty van was found abandoned and burnt out on Deakin Street in nearby Silverwater.

It has been seized for forensic examination, police said.

Police had established a crime scene and urged anyone with information to call crime stoppers on 1800 333 000.
