Telstra, VMtech recognised at Equinix's inaugural Asia-Pacific partner awards

Equinix has recognised Telstra and VMtech for playing a major role in the company's business acceleration in its first partner awards for Asia-Pacific.

Both Telstra and VMtech received the Start Award, which recognises Equinix's top three partners with the highest number of deals closed in a 12-month period.

VMtech also received the Best Innovation Award, which recognises the partner who demonstrated the highest levels of innovative thinking when leveraging Equinix capabilities to meet a customer challenge.

Len Findlay, VMtech's chief executive, said: "Being recognised by Equinix for their Star and Best Innovation awards is particularly meaningful as it reinforces the commitment we made in innovating on the Equinix platform with our VMtech MultiCloud solution. In addition, the award is a boost for our team to know that their work is regarded as some of the best in the industry."

Telstra was also recognised in another two categories, taking home the Top Performance Partner Awards for delivering the highest value of closed deals in its respective markets, which in this case included Australia, Hong Kong and Japan.

The telco also took home the New Logo, Champion Award, given to the partner who successfully brought in the highest number of new customer logos.

The data centre company said its partners brought their knowledge, skills and experience to help customers deploy interconnection and colocation services in Equinix's network of data centres across the region and worldwide.

When CRN interviewed Equinix Australia channel director Glen Hastings in April he said: "The objective of the awards is to recognise companies that have demonstrated a unique ability to deliver innovation and results with Equinix."

Since 2014, the percentage of corporate booking from partners increased from single digits to more than 16 percent, according to Equinix.

Jeremy Deutsch, Equinix Australia managing director, said: "At Equinix, we strongly believe that the channel provides us with the reach to scale revenue and increase market share, and the solid progress in our channel and partner programs in Australia and APAC more broadly, has proven this to be true. The Equinix Partner Awards – Asia-Pacific are a reflection of that philosophy in action."
