Telstra reveals wait for Lumia 930 launch

Telstra's release of Nokia's Lumia 930 has been delayed while the carrier re-tests the device following a "minor hardware update" it was "only recently made aware of".

A post on the Telstra web site states that due to the update, "we have needed to re-test the device to check it meets our performance benchmarks before putting it in the hands of our customers".

Testing is underway and Telstra will confirm a revised pre-order and launch date, according to the post. The new launch date has yet to be announced.

The Lumia 930 is also available on Optus and Vodafone, while the smaller Nokia Lumia 635 is available on Telstra and the Optus network.

The Lumia 930 is the first phone in Australia with Windows 8.1, which features a pull-down notification centre, Word Flow keyboard and new customisation options.

The flagship Lumia phone also has a 1080p 5-inch screen, 20MP camera, 2.2GHz quad-core processor, 2 GB of RAM and 32 GB of internal storage.

Meanwhile, the Lumia 635 has a 4.5 inch screen, quad-core 1.2GHz processor, 5MP camera, 8GB of internal storage and 512MB of RAM.
