Telstra raises quota on big wireless net plans

Telstra has cut prices and raised quotas on two of its higher-end wireless broadband plans to coincide with general availability of its Ultimate modem capable of download speeds up to 20 Mbps.

The new plans saw Telstra offer 7GB for $59.95 a month (previously 6GB for $79.95) and 12GB for $89.95 (previously 10 GB for $119.95).

Other plans in the BigPond wireless broadband product range remained the same.

The Ultimate modem had previously been only available to business fleet customers and was under trial by a selection of 120 Telstra enterprise and government customers.

The device was made available to consumers today.

The device takes advantage of a dual channel HSPA+ upgrade to the Next G network available in "Australia's capital city CBDs and associated airports, selected metropolitan hubs and more than 100 regional centres," the company said.
