Telstra inks $12.5 million deal with Allianz

Telstra has added to its services credentials, signing a $12.5 million ICT contract with the Australian arm of insurance giant Allianz.

The three-year contract will see Telstra deploy more than 800 mobile devices, along with the associated voice and data services.

"Our customers and business partners are located all over Australia so some of our account managers often travel from the city to remote locations," said Allianz Australia CIO Steve Coles. "It’s important they have the right resources to engage customers so they travel with rich media presentations on tablets and 4G dongles."

Coles said that Telstra not only provided for Allianz Australia's current needs, but also had a "vision of what our business could look like in the future".

"We're excited about the next part of our own evolution, which will empower our employees with mobile solutions, as well as design improved digital touch points to ensure our customers are receiving the personalised digital journey they want from us."

Telstra Global Enterprise and Services chief customer officer Martijn Blanken said: "We've worked closely with Allianz to provide deep insight into the banking and finance industry and to truly identify the new trends in customer engagement which will ultimately affect the technology environment they create."

Allianz Insurance has 4000 staff in Australia and claims over three million customers.
