Thecus' range of network attached storage (NAS) devices will be made available to Synnex's Australian reseller partners
Thecus general manager Florence Shih said Synnex was appointed for its "expertise in supply chain management, just in time delivery, and customer services".
Shih added Synnex "shared our commitment to innovation and reliability".
Network attached storage becomes increasingly more important as more people consume digital content, said Synnex product director Yu-Chen Liao.
Synnex marketing manager Chi-Wing Chan said that adding Thecus to its vendor portfolio would benefit the distributor's reseller partners.
"This new vendor relationship will enrich the choice for our 7,000-plus reseller partners. This addition is definitely a strong plus for assisting our resellers to provide the full turnkey solutions to their customers."
Synnex already offers solutions by IBM, WD and Seagate, but Chan said the Thecus NAS product offering fills a gap in the market.
"Thecus' strong leadership in NAS will fulfil the unmet demand and broaden the cloud storage market."
According to Synnex, Thecus has delivered 10 world firsts in the NAS market and has garnered 20 awards since being founded in 2004.
