Synnex adds Webroot to vendor line-up

Synnex has added endpoint security vendor Webroot to its portfolio.

The partnership builds on Synnex’s existing relationship with Webroot’s new owner, Carbonite. Synnex and Carbonite have been partnered since July 2018.

Carbonite acquired Webroot for US$618 million in February 2019, and both were subsequently bought by enterprise software company OpenText 10 months later.

Synnex highlighted two Webroot products its partners will now have access to: Webroot Business Endpoint Protection, and Webroot Security Awareness Training.

“We are excited to offer Webroot as a multilayer cybersecurity solution,” said Synnex Australia chief executive Kee Ong.

“By providing reseller partners with seamless cybersecurity management, user training, and backup and restore capabilities through Carbonite, we can strengthen cyber resilience and empower leaders to worry less about cyber threats and more about growing their business.”

APAC regional sales director for Carbonite and Webroot Steve Stavridis added: “Our journey with Synnex Australia began as a Carbonite distributor, and now the addition of Webroot enables us to provide an even more elevated partner experience to the Australian channel.

“The combination of technologies means that we will be able to offer total endpoint protection and safeguard individuals and businesses from the consequences of both cyber threats and data loss.”

This is the second Australia distributor consolidation for Carbonite and Webroot since the acquisition. Last week, Bluechip Infotech added Carbonite to its portfolio off the back of an existing relationship with Webroot.
