Existing users of Symantec’s Norton Internet Security, Norton AntiVirus and Norton Confidential 2006 and 2007 XP editions will be eligible to receive free compatibility upgrades.
Furthermore, an optional add-on pack with AntiSpam and Parental Controls will be available.
According to Symantec’s consumer product marketing manager David Hall, there is no added technology to the Vista-compatible version.
“The technology is essentially similar and users will get the same benefits.”
The updates will be downloadable a few days before the Vista launch, Hall said.
Symantec will join the likes of Sophos and McAfee – who made similar announcements late last year - followed by Trend Micro and CA, earlier this year.
