Sydney-headquartered software aggregator Software Combined Group has announced the acquisition of Auckland-based self-service automation and business process specialist Activate.

Founded in 2005, Activate provides workflow automation for end users in enterprises to streamline tasks involved with email lists, Microsoft Teams, shared mailboxes, application access and hardware requests.

Software Combined said Activate will retain its current branding and plans to use its Auckland presence to ensure New Zealand intellectual property remains in the country.

“Activate is a highly respected, profitable and stable business,” said Evert den Hollander, CEO, Software Combined.

“Activate has carved out a leadership position in the delivery of smart self-service automation to enterprises, empowering users to manage their own environment quickly and easily."

"This provides significant productivity gains, while ensuring a level of security, governance, audit and control that is not possible without smart automated management.”

This is the seventh B2B software business acquired by Software Combined since the company was founded in 2020.

In the last two years, the company acquired Perth-based marketing platform firm Last Yard and radio dispatch systems company Omnitronics along with four other Australian IT firms.

“As a leading and proud New Zealand technology innovator, we are confident that joining the Software Combined Group will not only ensure we can continue to provide our customers productivity and efficiency benefits they have come to expect from us but to access resources and skills to enable us to accelerate our expansion,” said Ashley Thomas, CEO of Activate.
