Sydney selected for DiData 24/7 service centre

NSW Treasurer Eric Roozendaal today announced the creation of 300 ICT jobs following the opening of Dimension Data's Australia global service centre in Sydney.

Based in North Ryde, the 24x7 service centre would be operational in February 2011 and house about 130 jobs which will grow to over 300 in five years, Roozendaal said. “Currently the company employs 550 people in NSW but this number will grow to over 850 when this centre comes fully online."

Meanwhile, Japanese telecom powerhouse NTT has been in the process of acquiring the integrator since July.

In October, the two companies agreed on the terms of NTT's cash offer for Dimension Data in a $US3.3 billion deal to create a huge global IT services and solution provider.
