The new partnership was formed to address growing demand for mobile security in the enterprise space.
Founded in 2002, Randtronics is an Australian encryption expert, with customers throughout APAC.
Steve Dolan, director channel and alliances, Sybase A/NZ, told CRN, Randtronics initially approached Sybase on the Sybase ASE enterprise encryption offerings.
"This developed to further cover our device management and security solution," he said.
"As [Randtronics] is an encryption specialist with expertise in the PCI industry, it brings a wealth of experience to further advance Afaria in the region."
Dolan said Sybase's other partners can benefit from the partnership by leveraging Randtronics expertise and technology within industry-specific applications and projects needing PCI-certified technologies.
"Sybase's solution uniquely combines mobile device management and mobile security from a single console, providing excellent protection against security threats and compliance issues," he said.
"With Afaria, Randtronics' customers can manage and secure multiple device types, applications, data and communications critical to frontline success, regardless of the bandwidth available."
More confidential information is being stored on mobile devices, and organisations are looking for proven and tested solutions to secure and manage their digital assets in a wireless environment, said Dolan.
