StorageCraft brings business continuity to SMBs

StorageCraft has brought its OneXafe business continuity solutions to small and medium businesses.

The OneXafe Solo 300 offers cloud-based backup, protection and disaster recovery with a two-step deployment process and a subscription model, instead of paying for the appliance upfront.

The solution streams data directly to StorageCraft Cloud, hosted in Sydney, or can also be hosted on local storage. The data is also protected by the vendor’s VirtualBoot service.

“This is the first time a customer can just simply click through, deploy and have backup and recover very, very simply through a device,” StorageCraft ANZ sales director Leo Lynch told CRN.

StorageCraft said channel partners can expect “healthy” margins as the OneXafe Solo 300 doesn’t require any capital expenses and needs “minimal” technical support. Subscription pricing is around $160 per month for the first protected device, while subsequent machines connected will be priced "significantly lower".

The offering is also integrated with ConnectWise and Autotask to provide simple licensing, billing and reporting.

“Partners have told us they wanted a low-touch solution that could provide instant backup and recovery,” Lynch said.

“In SMB environments, customers typically don’t have IT departments or at least an IT person, so the OneXafe Solo 300 is set up for SMB functionality and is also priced accordingly.”

Next year, StorageCraft will launch another OneXafe product for SMBs, the OneXafe 3000 scale-out converged storage solution.
