Sophos reseller scores with $776m paper giant

Australian services provider PowerNET has won a managed security contract with one of the largest paper manufacturers in Australia.

PowerNET has revealed the contract is with Australian Paper, which is behind the Reflex paper brand in Australia as well as other office, printing and packaging supplies.

The firm is working on the contract as a partner with Sophos, using Sophos' UTM in the provision of managed security services.

Australian Paper reported net sales revenue of $776.7 million in 2012 and employs around 1,300 direct employees. The company exports to more than 75 countries.

Australian Paper is spending $90 million on a white paper recycling plant which is scheduled to begin operating this year.

The contract is the first for PowerNET with a paper manufacturer. The firm won the contract after Australian Paper put out an RFP to a number of vendors, said PowerNET's new public manager Andrew Griffioen.
