Somerville recruits former Computelec boss to boost education business
David La Bozzetta

Former Computelec chief executive David La Bozzetta has joined Sydney-headquartered reseller Somerville/ISNet as its new managing director of education.

In his new role, La Bozzetta will head up the company's education division, which accounts for approximately 50 percent of the business.

La Bozzetta told CRN he would initially focus on building on Somerville's presence around sales and marketing, as well as its notebook and licensing programs.

“Somerville set out its vision and strategic plan to build on its education business. To execute the plan they were looking for people with proven experience and success in the education/IT vertical," said La Bozzetta.

"As the previous CEO of a leading education IT integrator, they believe they found the right person to build a team and further improve what has already been highly successful.”

Prior to joining Somerville, La Bozzetta was chief executive of Computelec, a large education provider specialising in cloud, managed services, BYOD and device programs, server and storage and network infrastructure.

He joined the reseller in 1998 and had led the company as chief executive since 2004.

Computelec merged with another large education provider, Winthrop, in February, with Winthrop's chief executive Cedric Celestine leading the combined company.

Founded in 1982, Somerville provides services to approximately 400 schools in Australia. Its specialties include BYOD devices deployment and managed BYOD, network infrastructure, managed services, cloud services and connectivity.
